CLAUDIO GIULIANELLI
What the artist says about him...
Talking about my painting is difficult for me, about how they are born and the figures that populate my paintings take shape. Certainly my love for ancient art was decisive, love born as a child during the summer holidays in Porto Ercole in Tuscany where the old fishermen told the legend of Caravaggio's death. I was struck by that painter and his painting entered the my DNA, I started studying his paintings, one by one, both in style compositional and technique.
Then, one day, during an art class at the school , I saw hanging behind my teacher a poster, in a corner, there was reproduced a detail of a painting by Hieronymus Bosch.
I remained impressed and bewildered, I thought he was a contemporary painter for that incredible surreal vein that implied an ancient knowledge, that representing a man with the face of a fish .... his world opened up to my eyes dmagical and hermetic that entered my skin and mind.
Yes, it is difficult for me to talk about my painting ...
